Bashundhara Shuvosangho brought smiles to the faces of children living along the riverside in Bhola by distributing food on Friday. Volunteers gathered along the banks of the Meghna River to share meals with street children and participate in various social activities.
The organisation pledged to stand by the underprivileged and organised the programme to extend support to deprived children in the island district.
Bashundhara Shuvosangho Bhola district president Md Shafayat Hossain (Siam), vice president Mir Abid Hossain Rafi, general secretary Md Zahid Hasan, joint general secretary Md Emran, assistant organising secretary Fazle Rabbi and other members joined the initiative.
“Our aim is not just to distribute food but to bring a little happiness to the faces of underprivileged children,” said district president Shafayat Hossain. “If our small effort makes even one child smile, our initiative is successful. We believe small acts of humanity can inspire big changes in society.”
He added that the organisation would continue such humanitarian efforts for street children and disadvantaged groups in Bhola.
Vice President Mir Abid Hossain Rafi said, “Seeing the children happy today motivates us to keep working for them. We will continue these activities in Bhola.”
General secretary Zahid Hasan said, “As young people, we want to practise humanity in society, and Bashundhara Shuvosangho gives us the platform to do so.”
The children’s faces lit up with joy as they received food from the volunteers. Atiq, one of the children, said, “We are very happy today. The brothers and sisters from Shuvosangho brought us food, and it feels wonderful.”
Locals praised the initiative, saying it set a positive example by engaging the young generation in social service.
