Bashundhara Shuvosangho extended support to low-income workers suffering under the intense heat in Shariatpur. On Friday afternoon, the district unit distributed cold water, saline, and essential supplies to day labourers, rickshaw-pullers, van drivers, and pedestrians at the court area of Shariatpur Sadar.
Leaders said the initiative aimed to bring some comfort and relief to people struggling with dehydration and heatstroke. “We wanted to put a smile of relief on the faces of hard-working people during this extreme heat. This is our responsibility to stand by the underprivileged,” they said.
District unit president Advocate Mizanur Rahman Mollah presided over the programme. Adviser and Daily Kaler Kantho district correspondent Shariful Alam Imon, vice-president Advocate Harun-or-Rashid, general secretary Firoz Sardar, finance secretary Md Rimon Dhali, office secretary Omar Bin Ali, publicity secretary Shahin Alam, and members Kabirul Alam Monir, Shahadat Hossain Dhali, and Jibon Mia, among others, joined the distribution.
Speakers added that such acts of compassion could inspire affluent sections of society to come forward. They pledged to continue serving people during this heat crisis as part of Bashundhara Shuvosangho’s commitment to humanitarian responsibility.
