Bashundhara Shuvosangho’s Vatara branch team secured the runners-up position in the Twenty-Four Hour Concrete Cylinder Competition, organised by the American Concrete Institute (ACI) Student Chapter.
Guests, including Prof Md Abu Hasan Bhuiya, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Information Technology and Sciences, Professor Ragib Ahsan of BUET’s Civil Engineering Department, and Mohammad Imran, Chief Marketing Officer of Maxcrete Ltd, handed over the awards to team members AEM Fahim Hasan, Md Sabbir Hossain Rupok, and Md Shafayat Hossain (Siam).
Organisers said the competition aimed to promote low-cost and durable concrete solutions while reducing material waste.
Team representatives expressed their joy at the achievement, crediting teamwork, practical experience, and the spirit of learning as their key motivators.
