Bashundhara Shuvosangho’s Dhaka College unit set up an admission help desk on Saturday for first-year honors students of the proposed Dhaka Central University to make the admission process smoother.
Throughout the day-long programme, volunteers of Shuvosangho provided various services to admission seekers.
To ease the stress of new students and their guardians, they distributed free purified drinking water and tissues.
The volunteers also offered facilities such as storing mobile phones, bags and personal items, downloading admit cards, and escorting students to their examination rooms.
The initiative received an overwhelming response from both students and guardians. Many parents praised Shuvosangho’s efforts, while students said such assistance was a great source of relief and motivation during the admission process.
The programme was successfully organised under the leadership of Mahmudul Hasan Shovon, a well-wisher of Bashundhara Shuvosangho Dhaka College unit, with overall guidance from Rajib Hossain, the founding former president of the unit.
Other active participants included Sumon Bosunia, Imdadul Haque, Ibrahim Hossain, Niaz Mahmud Sajal, Shuvo, Nazmul Hossain, Azizul Haque, Likhan Ahmed, Monir Hossain, and Muttakin Islam Musa.
Speaking about the initiative, Mahmudul said, “This help desk is a symbol of our solidarity with new students. Even small acts of support can bring them great comfort. Bashundhara Shuvosangho has always stood beside students and will continue to do so. The humanitarian efforts of every member are our greatest strength.”
Rajib said, “Students often face various challenges during the admission process. We consider it our responsibility to help them. Through such initiatives, we want to inspire students as they begin their new journey.”
