Jui Akhter has obtained GPA-5 in the recently concluded SSC examination, overcoming the financial hardship of her family in the remote village of Buripukur in Ranisankail upazila of Thakurgaon.
Her family’s poverty, the burden of educational expenses, and the daily struggle for survival posed serious challenges to her academic journey.
Bashundhara Shuvosangho handed over gifts, including uniforms, one month’s food assistance for her family, and a bicycle to Jui at a programme held at Ranishankail Degree College in the area on Saturday.
“The support of Bashundhara Shuvosangho has become a great source of inspiration on my path. I want to continue my study so that I can become a doctor in the future,” said Jui after receiving the gifts.
Shuvosangho upazila unit President Mahadev Basak was present while Kaler Kantho Correspondent Safiqul Islam Shilpi made an address of welcome. Mira Medical Pharmacy sponsored a bicycle for commuting to college.
Ranishankail Press Club General Secretary Humayun Kabir, BNP upazila unit Vice President Shahadat Hossain and Khalilur Rahman, Joint General Secretary Shahabuddin, Chopra-Doshiya High School Principal Ruhul Amin, and Gazirhat Degree College Assistant Professor Kabirul Islam Kabir were present, among others, on the occasion.
