The Bashundhara Shuvosangho Lalmonirhat District Branch held a vibrant literary event on Friday, organizing a "Path Chakra" or study circle to promote reading habits and literary appreciation among the youth. The event took place on the historic grounds of Gias Uddin High School.
This edition of the study circle featured a discussion on eminent author Imdadul Haq Milan’s acclaimed novel "Joto Dure Jai" (As Far As I Go), a poignant narrative highlighting themes of love, separation, family dynamics, and the often-harsh realities of life.
Enthusiastic literature lovers gathered to explore the novel’s themes, characters, narrative structure, and linguistic elegance. The interactive session offered reflections on the emotional depth and social realism portrayed in the book, sparking thoughtful discussions among the participants.
The event was presided over by Kamruzzaman Sumon, President of the Shuvosangho Lalmonirhat District Branch. Notable speakers included Vice-President Md. Nasim Uddin Bidyut, Organizing Secretary Md. Mehedi Hasan Masud, Assistant Organizing Secretary Md. Sabuj Mia, Finance Secretary Md. Shimul Mia, Office Secretary Md. Asaduzzaman Jim Babu, Women Affairs Secretary Maisha Marjan, and Sports Secretary Md. Sabbir Hossain Siam.

Addressing the gathering, General Secretary Md. Nayeem Rahman said, “Literary discussions not only stimulate our interest in reading but also allow us to enter the minds of authors. Let’s embrace literature as a vital part of life and contribute to building a humane, knowledge-based society.”
In his presidential remarks, Kamruzzaman Sumon emphasized, “Reading circles like this help develop mindfulness and strengthen our connection with books. We are committed to continuing such initiatives regularly to build a reading culture among the younger generation.”
The event concluded with renewed enthusiasm for literature and a collective pledge to spread the joy of reading across Lalmonirhat.
