Bashundhara Shuvosangho has provided one-month food aid to a destitute family of Hasanbahar village in Sunamganj.
Titu Mia, a poor wheelbarrow driver struggling to meet daily needs of family—including two children with disabilities—with his bare minimum earnings, received a ray of hope through aid from Shuvosangho.
The food aid consists of sufficient rice, pulses, potatoes, oil, spices, onions, garlic, muri, chira, noodles and biscuits for a whole month.
Shuvosangho unit vice-president Durjoy Dutta Purkayastha said the main goal of the initiative is to stand by the helpless and poverty-stricken families of Sunamganj.
“We encourage everyone to stand by each other in times of need. People should participate in all kinds of social activities, starting from hygiene programs to providing legal assistance to helpless people,” he added.
Shuvosangho district unit general secretary Md Lutfur Rahman Labib, joint general secretary Mohammad Hossain, health affairs secretary Saiful Rahman Saif, event secretary Sajidur Rahman Saju, executive members Mohammad Shahin, Sayan Mia, Sumon Mia, Masum Ahmed, Saju Talukder, Palash Ahmed, Parvez Mia and Mozahid Mia were present on the occasion.
