Bashundhara Shuvosangho has conducted an awareness meeting in Sonargaon upazila of Narayanganj to help prevent dengue amid a surge of Aedes mosquito infections in the area.
Upazila Health Officer Sharmin Ahmed Tithi was the chief guest, while Kaler Kantho upazila correspondent Gazi Mobarak moderated the discussion on Thursday.
Residential physician Dr Mostafizur Rahman Diganta, writer Mostaq Ahmed, social worker Faruk Ahmed and Sonargaon Probashi Kalyan Sangathan President Mizanur Rahman were present as special guests at the programme at Upazila Health Complex.
Dr Mostafizur Rahman Diganta praised Bashundhara Shuvosangho for taking the initiative to raise awareness about dengue fever.
Shuvosangho upazila unit Member Secretary Mostaq Ahmed and members Jasimuddin, Kaiser Ahmed, Sharif Hossain, Ali Nur, and local journalists Jahirul Islam Siraj, Jasimuddin Rajib and Kaiserul Mamun Raju were present on the occasion.
