Bashundhara Shuvosangho has stood by elderly Karim Pramanik, 98, in Charbhabanipur Baganpara of Sujanagar upazila of Pabna, who earns bread as a micro merchant.
Members of Shuvosangho handed over different items as a token of greeting to the small shop of Karim Pramanik on Friday.
"If someone had built a shop for him, he would have been able to function well," said Karim Pramanik, adding, "I will pray to Almighty Allah for the people who have stood by my shop today by providing me with goods."
During the handover, Shuvosangho central committee member Ali Akbar Raju, Shuvosangho district unit Adviser Md Rafiqul Islam, Publicity Secretary Mir Md Abu Zafar, Kaler Kantho district correspondent Prabir Saha, multimedia correspondent Rajib Joarder and members Md Humayun Kabir, Sinha and Sohan Hossain were present.
At 98, Karim Pramanik still sits by the roadside every day with a few goods, hoping for buyers. Despite suffering from stomach pain and the challenges of old age, he continues to support his two sons and four daughters—three of whom are married, while one has passed away. His family's survival depends entirely on whatever little is sold each day, reflecting the profound hardship he endures.
