To express support for the families of the martyrs and the injured from the July-August uprising, renowned South Asian musician Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is scheduled to perform in Dhaka at a concert called "Echoes of Revolution."
The concert, arranged by the platform Spirits of July, will be held on December 21 at the Army Stadium in the capital.
Musician Rahat Fateh Ali Khan recently shared a video message on social media regarding the upcoming concert. In the video, he said, "Warm greetings to my brave Bengali brothers and sisters. Assalamu Alaikum. In response to the invitation from the students, I will be visiting your beautiful country, Bangladesh, soon to perform for all of you."
The artiste announced, "To support the families of those affected by the July uprising, I will perform at a charity concert. This event, organised by courageous students, will take place at the Bangladesh Army Stadium in Dhaka. All proceeds from the concert will be allocated to assist the families of those who were injured or lost their lives during the uprising."
Rahat Fateh Ali Khan concluded with a message, expressing, "On December 21, I am eager to meet my Bangladeshi brothers and sisters at the Army Stadium, Inshallah. May the bond between Bangladesh and Pakistan flourish."
In addition to Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, the "Echoes of Revolution" event will feature performances by well-known local bands including Artcell, Chirkutt, Aftermath, and members of Silsila. Popular rap artists Shezan and Hannan are also scheduled to perform.
On the occasion of the concert, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) announced that the expressway will be toll-free via the Airport, Kuril, and Banani ramps from 2 PM to 12 AM. This was confirmed by Mohammad Talebur Rahman, Deputy Police Commissioner of DMP's Media and Public Relations Department, on Tuesday.
