In 2022, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor introduced their daughter, Raha Kapoor, to the world through an Instagram post.
The picture showed the couple gazing at their baby girl, with a customized jersey in the background displaying her name. Alia later revealed that Ranbir’s mother, veteran actor Neetu Kapoor, had suggested the name ‘Raha,’ which means divine path, peace, joy, freedom, and bliss—reflecting what they felt when they first held her, reports Hindustan Times.
However, Raha wasn’t the first name they had in mind. In a podcast with Jay Shetty, Alia shared that she and Ranbir initially fell in love with a boy’s name before settling on ‘Raha.’ The couple had asked their family members to suggest both boy and girl names in a family group chat. Among the boy names, they found one they particularly loved but chose not to reveal it.
Alia recalled that Neetu Kapoor then suggested ‘Raha,’ mentioning that it would pair well with their chosen boy’s name if they ever had a son. She also suggested a combination for two girls, but Alia and Ranbir instantly loved ‘Raha’ and finalized it.
Fans are now eager to know the name the couple has in mind for their second child, who will be Raha’s sibling.
