Renowned Director Syed Salahuddin Zaki died at a city hospital on Monday night.
He was 77.
The eminent director breathed his last at United Hospital in Gulshan around 11:53 pm.
He left behind a son and a daughter, both of whom live in Canada.
Zaki was quickly taken to the hospital as his health deteriorated suddenly at 10:00 pm at his Dhanmondi residence where duty doctor declared him death, reports Daily Sun.
Salahuddin Zaki was also known as a scriptwriter, actor, and author.
In 1980, he received the National Film Award for Best Screenplay for his first film, 'Ghuddi.' After that, he produced several films, including 'Lal Benarasi' and 'Ayena Bibir Pala.'
In the late 1990s, he also served as the Chief Executive of Bangladesh Television.
