People from all walks of life paid their last tribute to renowned actor and freedom fighter Akbar Hossain Pathan Farooque on Tuesday.
The body of Farooque was kept at Central Shaheed Minar from 11.30 am for all to pay their last respects to the beloved actor.
At first, homage was paid on behalf of President Mohammed Shahabuddin. Later, a rich tribute to the great hero of the Liberation War was paid on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury.
Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader along with other central leaders paid homage to the actor on behalf of the party.
Later, various social, cultural, political and volunteer organisations paid their rich tribute to Akbar Hossain Pathan Farooque.
After that, the body was taken to the premises of the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) and his first namaz-e-janaza was held there after Zuhr prayer. Colleagues, followers and fans paid their last tribute at BFDC.
Finally, the body of Farooque will be taken to Gazipur’s Kaliganj where Farooque will be buried after the Asr prayer after another janaza at Gulshan Azad Mosque in Dhaka.
