Prime Minister’s Adviser and BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Wednesday said the prime minister will take timely and effective measures to address the country’s trade deficit and improve the business and investment environment.
Speaking at a briefing on the current political situation at the BNP central office in Nayapaltan, Dhaka, Rizvi said existing gaps in trade, investment and business activities need to be reduced and expressed confidence that the prime minister would take appropriate steps to achieve that goal.
He made the remarks at a briefing on the current political situation at the BNP’s Nayapaltan central office in the capital on Wednesday.
Rizvi alleged that a vested quarter is trying to destabilise the country. No anti-state activities would be tolerated under the current government, he asserted.
The senior BNP leader also expressed hope that the prime minister’s upcoming visit to China would help reduce the existing trade deficit between the two countries.
He said the government would take effective measures to boost investment and expand economic cooperation. Bangladesh would no longer remain dependent on others, Rizvi added.
