The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification declaring a public holiday on Thursday (April 3) through an executive order, before the weekly holiday, following Eid ul-Fitr.
In a notification issued today (March 23), the Ministry of Public Administration said that the government has declared a public holiday on April 3, through an executive order on the occasion of the upcoming holy Eid ul-Fitr.
However, essential services, including electricity, water, gas, fuel supplies, fire services, port operations, sanitation, telephone and internet services, postal services, and related service staff and vehicles, will remain operational and exempt from the holiday.
Furthermore, hospitals and emergency services, along with their staff, will continue to operate during the holiday. Medical personnel, as well as workers and vehicles involved in transporting medicines and medical supplies, will also be exempt from the holiday period. Offices engaged in emergency work will similarly remain unaffected by the holiday break.
Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Bank will issue necessary instructions regarding the continuation of banking activities, and the Supreme Court will provide the required guidelines concerning court operations.
