BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman said that an attempt is being made to bring the army face to face with the people, and there is a conspiracy behind it.
He said this while virtually joining the prayer mahfil organized by the BNP Media Cell at the Ladies Club in the capital on Monday from London.
Tarique Rahman said, “Instability has arisen in the country and people want stability to return to place. No one wants the previous situation to return. Everyone must stand on one platform and unite to confront all conspiracies at any cost.”
He said that the Liberation War was fought with great expectations, political party leaders and activists have sacrificed for 16 years, and countless people gave their lives in the July coup. Their sacrifice cannot be allowed to go in vain.
The BNP Acting Chairman also called on media workers to present the true story to the nation.
At the same time, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that a despicable attempt has begun to make the army controversial.
He said, "The independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh are in danger, and we are again vulnerable. A despicable attempt has begun to make our patriotic army, who have stood by the nation at every important moment of the country, controversial again."
Mirza Fakhrul said, "Today, a new conspiracy has been started very skillfully. The conspiracy is to destabilize Bangladesh again and plunge it into danger again. The institutions that exist in Bangladesh, the institutions that are still very important in protecting the independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh, are also being made controversial. Especially the army is being made controversial. There can be no great purpose behind this; it has only one purpose— just like the independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh were endangered during the fascist government in the past."
