Tamim Iqbal, the former Bangladesh captain, was rushed to a hospital after experiencing chest pain midway through a Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League match between Mohammedan Sporting Club and Shinepukur Cricket Club. The incident occurred while he was fielding during the first innings of the match at BKSP in Savar.
Initially, a helicopter was arranged to transport Tamim to the hospital, but he was unable to be airlifted from the BKSP ground. As a result, he was taken to Fazilatunnesa Hospital, located near BKSP, for immediate medical attention. Match referee Debabrata Paul confirmed the news to ESPNcricinfo.
Tamim, who was captaining the Mohammedan team in the match, had also participated in the toss earlier. Shortly after taking the field, he began experiencing chest pain and was given first aid at the ground. However, as his condition did not improve, he was transported to the nearby Fazilatunnesa Hospital for further treatment.
A source from the Bangladesh Cricket Board's medical department confirmed that after initial assessments, it was decided to transport Tamim to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka. However, due to his condition, airlifting him was not possible, and he is currently receiving treatment at Fazilatunnesa Hospital.
Tamim’s health condition is being closely monitored, and further updates will be provided as necessary.
