The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) finds itself in turmoil following a series of controversies. From allegations of financial irregularities to tensions with club cricketers, the board has come under intense scrutiny and criticism. In an effort to find a way out of these troubles, BCB has called an emergency board meeting.
The meeting is scheduled to be held today at 4:00 PM. Unlike most board meetings that typically take place at the BCB headquarters, this one will be conducted over Zoom.
A BCB source confirmed the development.
The source stated that the Zoom meeting has been called for the afternoon, and it will feature extensive discussions and decisions regarding the financial report and the recent events that have unfolded.
A board meeting was originally planned for March 24. However, it had to be canceled after Tamim Iqbal suffered a heart attack. Despite a month passing since then, no meeting had been convened. With the situation deteriorating further, the board has now decided to hold this urgent session.
Previously, ahead of the South Africa series, BCB had also called an emergency Zoom meeting to implement the decision to dismiss head coach Chandika Hathurusingha. That meeting also included discussions about Shakib Al Hasan’s return to the country.
