Ali Habib, assistant editor of the Daily Kaler Kantho, is no more. He breathed his last at Evercare Hospital in the capital at around 8:00 pm on Tuesday at the age of 61.
It is learned that he fell sick while on duty in the afternoon. Then his colleagues took him to the hospital. Doctors from the emergency department put him on life support. Later, he stopped breathing at around 8:00 pm.
Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan has prayed for the salvation of the departed soul and expressed his deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
Ali Habib was a prominent journalist and was carrying his duty as an assistant editor of renowned Daily Kaler Kantho.
Ali Habib joined Daily Janakantha as an editorial assistant in 1993. Later, he served as an assistant editor and chief coordinator of the feature department since 2001. He was the departmental editor of the feature pages 'Rango Bhara Bongodesh' and 'Jhilimili'.
He has been working in the Daily Kaler Kantho since September 2009. He used to write on contemporary issues in the sub-editorial department of Kaler Kantho.
His first namaz-e-janaza will be held at the East West Media Group compound (in the office premises of Kaler Kantho) at 9 pm. Later at night, his body will be taken to his residence in Jhenaidah.
