Jaya Ahsan, renowned in both Bangladesh and India’s film industries, received the the Traditional Queen of the Year award at the Joy Filmfare Glamour & Style Awards West Bengal held in Kolkata.
After receiving the award on Monday, Jaya Ahsan shared the news on social media. Although it was her first Filmfare Glamour and Style Award, she has won multiple Filmfare Awards for her acting.
Posting a bunch of pictures with the award, Jaya wrote, “I am very happy to receive the Traditional Queen of the Year award at the prestigious Glamour and Style Awards this year. Thank you to the entire team of Filmfare for this recognition. Filmfare has always made me feel special—this is another beautiful addition to my long journey.”
Earlier, Jaya Ahsan had won the Joy Filmfare Award for her acting. On the evening of the award show, Jaya was wearing an olive green satin silk high-slit gown, exclusively designed for her by Bangladesh's renowned designer Sanaya Chowdhury.
The Filmfare awards are a prestigious recognition for Bollywood artists, filmmakers, and professionals. The Joy Filmfare Awards Bengali has been introduced to acknowledge Indian Bengali cinema.
Jaya Ahsan has been nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Female) for her performance in "Bhootpori". While Mosharraf Karim for (Hubba) and Chanchal Chowdhury for (Padatik) have earned nominations for Best Actor (Critics).
