A Dhaka court has granted remand for six individuals, including Salman F Rahman, in the case of the murder of auto-rickshaw driver Hafizul Shikdar in the Badda Thana area of the capital, which was centered around an anti-discrimination movement, reports Dhaka Tribune.

On Monday, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate G M Farhan Ishtiaq issued this order after a hearing. Earlier, at around 9:15am, the police brought the accused from Keraniganj prison to the court.
Then, the case’s investigating officer, CID Dhaka Metro North Inspector Riduanul Haque, filed a petition for a five-day remand.
The defense lawyers appealed for bail, seeking cancellation of the remand. On behalf of the prosecution, Public Prosecutor Omar Faruq Faruqi argued in favor of the remand.
After the hearing, the judge granted a two-day remand.
