Chief Election Commissioner, AMM Nasir Uddin said that the Election Commission is committed to fulfilling the expectations of the people and ensuring a fair election.
He made this remark today (Monday) during the inauguration of the voter list update program at the Savar Upazila Parishad auditorium, where Election Commissioners were also present.
"The accuracy and transparency of the voter list will depend on the awareness of field workers," he said, advising officials to ensure that no allegations of dishonesty or negligence arise in the voter list.
The opportunity to establish voting rights has now been created, and if missed, it is uncertain when it will come again. Without an accurate voter list, voting rights cannot be established, and true rights will only be established when people can vote freely and without fear, he added.
