‘If countrymen elect us to power, we would be servant of people, not the master’

‘If countrymen elect us to power, we would be servant of people, not the master’

Former central president of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir and central assistant secretary general of Jamaat-e-Islami, Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan, said the people of Bangladesh are now waiting for honest, competent and efficient leadership and Jamaat-e-Islami will have to play a historic role again to fulfill the aspirations of the masses.

“If Allah and the countrymen elect us to power, we will serve as the servants of people instead of becoming kings. Every leader and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami is always ready to make any sacrifice until the flag of Islam is hoisted on this land. And it will be same in the future, too,” he said.

He said this while talking as the chief guest in the rally of former activists, comrades and members of Islami Chhatra Shibir organized by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Bogura city wing at Titu Auditorium on Saturday noon.

The Jamaat leader also said the fascist forces that banned Jamaat-e-Islami have now been banned by the people. Jamaat-e-Islami is moving forward towards its goal by overcoming all obstacles. No matter how much risk it takes, the escaped fascism will never be able to return to the country. Even those who are trying to stand against the Islamic movement will never be able to succeed. The leaders and activists of Jamaat-Shibir will have to come forward to provide honest, efficient, extortion-free leadership to this nation in the coming days.

The program was presided over by Bogura City Jamaat Ameer Principal Abidur Rahman Sohel, and the recently outgoing central president of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir Manjurul Islam, and Jamaat's Bogura region head, Professor Nazrul Islam, spoke as special guests. Under the direction of Bogura City Jamaat secretary Professor ASM Abdul Malek and former student leader Hedaitul Islam, Maulana Alamgir Hossain, former Shibir leader Mizanur Rahman, Nurul Amin Sarkar, Abdus Salam Tuhin, Anisur Rahman, Professor Rafiqul Alam, Md. Salim Reza, Abdul Kadim, Alauddin Sohel, Al Amin, Asgar Ali, Iqbal Hossain, Advocate Nurul Islam Akand, Mehedi Hasan and others were also present on the occasion.

After this rally of more than 2,500 former leaders and activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir, a colorful rally march Bogura city. In the afternoon, a delightful cultural program was held with the performances of national and local artists.
