BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir BNP's Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman will return to the country within a short period after being acquitted of all charges.
He made this statement on Thursday (January 9) at the unveiling ceremony of a book titled “Rajbandir Jobanbondi”(Testimony of a Political Prisoner) about the false and vindictive cases filed against Khaleda Zia. The event was held at the BNP Chairperson's office in Gulshan, Dhaka.
“The honor Begum Zia has received internationally cannot be expressed in words. I express my gratitude to the Ameer of Qatar, who sent an air ambulance without hesitation. Thanks to the British government as well. Begum Zia faced no obstacles anywhere. Whatever was needed, BNP got it,” said Fakhrul
Addressing the leaders and activists, he added, “After August 5, on August 7, Begum Zia said that patience is essential, and no one should be vindictive. These principles must be embraced.
