Information and Broadcasting Advisor Nahid Islam said the July Uprising directorate is being set up under the Liberation War Affairs Ministry.
He said that the martyr families and the injured will be provided lifelong assistance and rehabilitation through this department.
Already, 826 martyr families and 11,000 injured have been listed. There is an opportunity to be listed by January 31. After that, no further applications will be accepted.
Nahid Islam announced this decision after a meeting of the July Shaheed Smriti Foundation with three advisors of the Railway Ministry on Monday.
The information advisor said, “It has been decided to provide financial assistance of Tk 637 crore 80 lakh to the martyr families and the injured. Of this, Tk 232 crore 60 lakh will be given in the first phase in January. This financial assistance will start from next week. The remaining money will be given by June.”
The advisor mentioned that according to the previous announcement, they will receive Tk 30 lakh taka.
He said, of this, “Tk 10 lakh is FDR. The injured will be given a maximum of Tk 5 lakh taka. The martyr's family and the injured will receive monthly allowance every month.”
