Masood Sayedee, the Jamaat-nominated candidate for Pirojpur-1, stated that the main reason for Sheikh Hasina's government's downfall was misrule and oppression. He mentioned that due to her misrule, the Chhatra League has been banned.

He made this comment during a meeting with journalists at the Pirojpur Press Club on Friday evening.

The meeting was chaired by Press Club President Rezaul Islam Shamim and conducted by General Secretary SM Tanvir Ahmed.

In the meeting, Masood Sayedee further said, "There are 180 million people in Bangladesh. However, only a few individuals used to run the country. It is due to the corruption of these few people, pushing the country toward division and smuggling the nation's wealth abroad, that we are struggling and suffering today."

Masood Sayedee touched upon the potential of Bangladesh and why the nation has failed to utilize its potential.

"There is no shortage of resources in Bangladesh. Our biggest resource is our human capital. We have 180 million people with 360 million hands. Yet we cannot utilize them properly. Our heads have become rotten, which is paralyzing the entire system. If those who were in power had considered the country as the people’s property, and themselves as public servants rather than rulers, the situation would not be as it is today," Masood Sayedee added.

Regarding development in Pirojpur, Masood said, "In the past 15-16 years, despite having three prominent MPs and two important government ministers from this area, there has been no visible development for the people. The real development of Pirojpur took place during the time of my father, Delwar Hossain Sayeedi when he was an MP."

Masood Sayedee also talked about what he would do if he were elected as a Member of Parliament.

He stated, "If I am elected as a Member of Parliament in the upcoming election, I will not indulge in flattery of the administration. Instead, I will coordinate with the public and the media, seeking everyone’s cooperation to build a beautiful Pirojpur for future generations. Journalists always serve as a supportive force, as they have the ability to expose people's mistakes in front of the public."

The meeting was attended by journalists working at the press club, District Chhatra Shibir President Mehedi Hasan, and other leaders of Jamaat in the district.
