BNP Standing Committee Member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy has called upon the interim government to pave the path of holding the national election based on political consensus without wasting time in the name of reforms.
“A total of 40 political parties have reached a consensus on 31-point reform proposals. If there needs to be any modification, discuss it with the political parties. These reforms do not require months after months,” said the BNP leader.
While addressing a programme held at the party’s Nayapaltan central office in Dhaka on Friday, Gayeshwar said, “A depoliticization plot is still going on in the country. It is not possible to resolve the prevailing crisis, keeping the main issue off the agenda,” he added.
Citing the 27-point reform proposals presented by BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, Gayeshwar said that the interim government should implement the reforms in line with these proposals.
