Gono Odhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque Nur on Saturday stressed on involvement of political parties to strengthen the interim government led by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yunus, reports BSS.
“The interim government should include representatives of various political parties in its structure to make an inclusive government to strengthen it,” he said while addressing a shadow parliament (Chaya Sangsad) debate competition at Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) as the chief guest.
Nur, however, said that these political-party representatives will act as the present interim government's associate partners. “Once such inclusive government is formed, the gap between the government and political parties will be minimized leading to a smooth functioning of government."
Debate for Democracy, a non-profit, non-government organization, organized the debate competition titled 'Student Politics is an Obstacle for Fair Environment of Education' with its Chairman Hassan Ahamed Chowdhury Kiron in the chair.
Nur, also Vice-President (VP) of Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU), said the present interim government is losing its acceptability due to price hike of essentials, fuel or energy crisis and in regard of foreign loans.
If this apolitical government includes political parties and takes their realistic opinions then it would be easy for the government to run the country smoothly, he added.
Nur said without coordinating with political parties in the structure of the present interim government, it (the government) will face disaster and the government's disaster means the disaster of the people of the country as well.
