Former industries minister Nurul Majid arrested

Former industries minister Nurul Majid arrested

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested former lawmaker and industries minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun from Dhaka's Gulshan area early Wednesday.

Lt Col Munim Ferdous, director of the legal and media wing of the elite force confirmed the arrest to the media.

Nurul Majid is accused in a case file in Narsingdhi on charges of murder and launching attacks on protesters during the quota reform movement in Madhabdi upazila, he said.

A legal process is underway against the former minister, he added.
