A Dhaka court on Sunday placed former public administration minister Farhad Hossain on a five-day remand for interrogation in a case filed over the death of garment worker Rubel during the Anti-Discrimination Movement on August 5.
Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Sanaullah passed the order after police produced him before the court with a seven-day remand plea.
Earlier, members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-2) arrested Farhad from Dhaka's Eskaton area early Sunday and handed him over to Adabor Police Station.
On August 22, the victim’s father Rafiqul Islam filed the murder case with Adabor Police Station, accusing former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and 147 others.
