Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, adviser to the Ministry of Youth and Sports and Labor and Employment of the Interim Government, believes that the labor unrest will be brought under control as soon as possible.
He said this during a press briefing on the meeting of the Advisory Council at the Foreign Service Academy on Thursday afternoon.
Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan said, "The advisers of the concerned ministries are sitting every day with the discontented labours. Yesterday also we sat where there were 6 advisors. There have also been incidents like fires when a large company could not pay salaries. At that time, we talked to the governor of Bangladesh Bank and arranged a loan of 79 million taka. It has paid the salary of 40 thousand workers in that belt. Today, therefore, there is less labour dissatisfaction.”
The adviser said, "The committee consists of labor leaders, employers and two Supreme Court lawyers are dealing with labor laws. If we put the complaints to them, we will basically go beyond our current committee and form a review committee so that we can resolve them as soon as possible. We hope that the labor dissatisfaction will be brought under control soon. I can solve the problems that the workers have."
