The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court (SC) has stayed for a month the High Court judgment, declaring the cancellation of the Freedom Fighter quota in the first and second classes of government jobs illegal, reports Daily Sun.
A five-judge Appellate bench led by Chief Justice Obaidul Hassan passed the order on Wednesday.
As a result of the order, the circular issued by the government in 2018 canceling the quota for freedom fighters in first and second classes of government jobs will be reinstated, said legal experts.
After passing the order, the Supreme Court has asked agitating students to return to their classes and attend their exams. The court has also instructed all university authorities to create a congenial environment for education.
