University students on Tuesday declared they would enforce a day-long blockade across the country tomorrow (Wednesday) to resume their "Bangla Blockade" movement against quota system in public service recruitment, following a day’s pause.
Nahid Islam, a key organizer of the student movement, made the announcement at a press briefing held in front of the Central Library of University of Dhaka.
On Tuesday, the protesting university students held online and offline campaigns seeking public support for their cause.
Earlier on Monday evening, the university students have given the government three days to fulfill their single demand: abolishing quota system in all government job circulars with the minimum post reservation only for disadvantaged groups, as stated in the Constitution.
