At least four people were killed and seven others were injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a covered van in Banani area of Bogura early Tuesday, reports Daily Sun.
The deceased are Jamal Hossain of Kazipur in Sirajganj, Shamim Hossain, Ridoy of Hijla area of Barisal, and an unidentified woman. The bodies of the deceased were sent to the morgue of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.
Inspector Miladunnabi, in charge of the Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital outpost, confirmed the matter.
A covered van coming from the opposite direction collided with a passenger bus of Shah Fateh Ali Paribahan from Dhaka to Naogaon around 4:00 am on Tuesday, the police official said.
Ridoy, the driver of the covered van, and an unidentified woman died on the spot. Later, another person named Shamim died on the way to the hospital. Later, another victim Jamal died while undergoing treatment, he added.
Among the seven injured, one person was released after receiving primary treatment, he said.
