Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested 17 people including Syed Abed Ali and his son Syed Sohanur Rahman Siam in connection with the leak of question papers for BCS and 30 other government job recruitment exams under the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC).
Abed Ali was the PSC chairman's driver and his son Syed Sohanur Rahman Siam, who is the Relief and Disaster Management Secretary of the Chhatra League's Dhaka North unit.
The other arrestees are -- PSC's Deputy Directors Abu Zafar, Jahangir Alam, Assistant Director Alamgir Kabir, Dispatch Rider Khalilur Rahman, Office Assistant Sajedul Islam, Auditor Priyanath Roy, Noman Siddiqui, Abu Solaiman Md Sohel, Zahidul Islam, Mamunur Rashid, Sakhawat Hossain, Sayem Hossain, Liton Sarkar, Narayanganj Regional Passport Office Security Officer Shahadat Hossain and Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital Medical Technician Niamun Hasan.
According to a private television report, during BPSC recruitment exams, the racket used to embezzle money by leaking questions. This gang recently targeted the Railway Sub-Assistant Engineer recruitment exam held last Friday.
