Prime Minister's Private Sector Industry and Investment Adviser Salman F Rahman on Thursday said traders of Bangabazar can resume their business there temporarily before Eid-ul-Fitr, reports BSS.
"As soon as possible, this place will be cleared. The affected traders will be provided financial assistance by this time according to the list. The compensation will be given based on damages," he told reporters after visiting the fire-ravaged Bangabazar market in the city, said a press release.
He confirmed that temporary arrangements would be made for the traders before Eid to run their business.
He said, "We are working to rehabilitate and compensate the traders. It can't be recovered fully, but a little bit can be recovered."
"Some people already have called me to help financially the affected traders. For this, traders have been advised to open joint bank accounts, bKash, Nagad and ROCKET. After opening the accounts, it will be informed publicly," he added.
