A court in Dhaka on Wednesday placed former law minister Anisul Huq on a three-day remand in a case lodged over the murder of Jannatul Ferdaus, 40, in the capital's Shanir Akhra area during the July-August mass uprising.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Belal Hossain passed the order as police produced Huq before the court and pleaded to place him on a seven-day remand, reports BSS.
Anisul Huq was arrested from the capital's Sadarghat area as he, along with Salman F Rahman, was trying to flee the capital through the waterways on August 13.
According to the case documents, Jannatul Ferdaus was shot and killed on July 20 in the Shanir Akhra area. Her brother Mamunur Rashid on September 13 filed the case with the Jatrabari Police Station.
