The election of Chattogram District Bar Association (CDBA) will be held tomorrow where two panels are contesting in the polls, reports BSS.
Election commission sources said all preparations, including printing of ballot papers, have been completed and candidates have been urged to obey the election rules strictly.
Chief election commissioner Advocate Ratan Kumar Roy said that wall writing and pasting posters have strictly been prohibited.
The formal publicity of the election remains stopped from 6 pm on Thursday.
Two panels, Awami League and pro-liberation forces backed Chattogram Sommilito Ainjibi Somonnoy Parishad and pro- BNP-Jamaat Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Oikya Parishad are vying for 21 posts in the election this year.
CDBA sources said a total of 42 candidates are vying for the posts of 21 office-bearers, including 11 executive committee members.
Voting will begin at CDBA auditorium at 9 am on Sunday and it will continue till 4pm without any break, the sources said.
A total of 5,197 members, out of 6,700, are eligible to exercise their right of franchise in the election.
Monotosh Barua from Sommilito Ainjibi Somonnoy Parishad, and Mohammad Nazim Uddin Chowdhury from Ainjibi Oikya Parishad are contesting for the post of President.
Besides, ASM Bazlur Rashid Minto from Somonnoy Parishad and Md Hasan Ali Chowdhury from Oikya Parishad are in the race for the post of General Secretary.
