Another leader of the Rohingya community was shot dead by unknown assailants in Ukhia upazila of Cox’s Bazar district on Sunday, reports UNB.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Selim, 35, son of Abdus Sobhan, a sub-majhi (deputy head) of Balukhali camp.
Sheikh Mohammad Ali, officer-in-charge of Ukhia Police Station, said a group of miscreants called Selim out of the camp in the early hours on Sunday and opened fire on him, leaving him dead on the spot.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Earlier on Saturday evening, Rashid Ahmed, head majhi of a different camp, was stabbed to death.
