The ruling Awami League has set the theme for its 22nd national council which is scheduled to be held on December 24.
The main theme of the council is "Unnoyon Abhijat rai Deshratna Sheikh Hasinar Netritte Bangabandhur Swapner Unnoto, Samridho O Smart Bangladesh Gorar Protoye".
Awami League Presidium Member and convener of the party's sub-committee on finance Kazi Zafar Ullah said this to journalists after visiting the council venue at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan on Tuesday afternoon.
Zafar said they are taking preparation for a gathering of at least one lakh people on the day of the council.
The council stage will be made in the shape of the party's election symbol 'boat' while the pandal will be in the shape of the Bengali alphabet 'La'.
Kazi Zafar said previous councils were held on two days but this time the council will be on a single day having two sessions with a break for lunch and prayers between the two sessions.
Science and Technology Minister Architect Yeafesh Osman, party’s Presidium Members Jahangir Kabir Nanak and Abdur Rahman, Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Organising Secretary Mirza Azam, Liberation War Affairs Secretary Mrinal Kanti Das, Cultural Affairs Secretary Asim Kumar Ukil, Science and Technology Affairs Secretary Engineer Abdus Sabur, Forest and Environment Secretary Delwar Hossain, Office Secretary Barrister Biplab Barua, Central Working Committee Members Advocate ABM Riazul Kabir Kawsar and Syed Abdul Awal Shamim were present at that time.
