Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury said peaceful Rohingya repatriation is needed considering Bangladesh’s environment and their (Rohingyas) rights to the motherland (Myanmar).
She came up with the observation while representatives of the Sub-Committee on Muslim Communities and Minorities of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC (PUIC) led by its President Prof Dr Orhan Atale paid a courtesy call on Speaker on Monday.
The Speaker said sheltering displaced Rohingyas from Myanmar, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has set a rare example to the world and been regarded as the ‘Mother of Humanity’.
Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury also sought the effective role of OIC (PUIC) in this regard.
