West Bengal Agriculture Minister Sovandeb Chattopadhyay said I feel proud that we’re Bangali. Bangla is a recognized language in the United Nations and we speak, write, dream and express weal and woe in this language. Bangladesh is always surpassing all countries in the sub-continet."
He said this while speaking at the Victory Day programme held in Bangladesh Deputy High Commission at Kolkata on Friday.
Sovandeb said, “I have a heartily connection with Bangladesh. I’m fortunate enough that I met Shikeh Kamal, the son of Bangabandhu Shiekh Mujibur Rahman in World Youth Day in 1973. He’s no more now, but Bangladesh is still shining with pride.”
He said, “Bangladesh is surpassing every countries in the sub-continent in all sectors and reached the pinnacle of development. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his worthy daughter Sheikh Hasina united all the people in the country regardless of class, religion and race. With the active participation of all people, the country has achieved excellent development.”
Later on, in reply to the question of journalists, he said, “In nature, Bangali are emotional and this emotion can’t be segregated or detached by just a borderline.”
