East West University's (EWU) Faculty of Business and Economics has been awarded unconditional accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) for the next ten years. ACBSP, a U.S.-based accrediting body recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), granted this recognition after a recent institutional visit. This prestigious accreditation enhances the university’s global standing, benefiting students, faculty, and programs. It ensures international recognition, with degrees and diplomas widely accepted, offering students a competitive edge in the job market and opportunities for higher education abroad, said a press release.
Additionally, EWU has launched a new emergency ambulance service to expand its healthcare offerings. On 22 December 2024, Professor Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin, the university’s chief adviser, officially handed over the keys to Professor Dr. Shams Rahman, Vice-Chancellor, on behalf of the university’s Board of Trustees. The event was attended by the Board of Trustees, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Treasurer, senior officials, and medical staff.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Shams Rahman expressed his excitement, stating, "The ACBSP accreditation is a strong endorsement of the international standard of our business education. It will open up new opportunities for both students and faculty. Launching the ambulance service is a testament to our commitment to providing prompt healthcare services."
