Home Advisor Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury stated that the government will not bring any change to its decision on preventing Rohingya entry to Bangladesh.
The advisor informed to the media at an event to celebrate Border Guard Bangladesh or BGB Day on Monday, reports bdnews24.com.
Home Advisor said,"There’s no change to our decision. We won’t allow Rohingya people to enter at any cost. Even then, on humanitarian grounds, we’ll consider the sick and old person since war is going on there.”
Currently, the Arakan Army has captured the entire Bangladesh-Myanmar border area, the home advisor added.
"The Arakan Army has taken control of the border area, leaving the BGB without a place to talk to them. To communicate, the BGB must go to the ships, and even then, it is unofficial," he said.
However, the government was working to resolve the issue, he said.
When asked about the Rohingya repatriation, the home advisor said the chief advisor gave the "special responsibility," to someone.
“We hope to have a good result soon,” he said.
He told the media that around 60,000 Rohingya freshly entered Bangladesh in the last one and a half years to two years.
