The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), Bangladesh's premier capital market, began Tuesday's trading session on an optimistic note. The benchmark index, DSEX, rose by 25.24 points to 5,192.22, signaling a strong start to the day.
Within the first hour, a total of Tk 97.2 crore worth of shares were traded, reflecting active market participation. Trading data revealed that 4.3 crore shares and mutual fund units changed hands through 33,656 transactions.
Out of 380 companies that participated in the session, prices of 272 firms saw gains, 45 declined, and 63 remained unchanged.
Other indices also posted gains, with the DSES Shariah index climbing 8.81 points to 1,162.93 and the DS30 index, which tracks blue-chip stocks, increasing by 8.4 points to 1,912.45.
