The country’s first-ever Jewellery Park is going to be established at Bashundhara City Shopping Complex at Panthapath in the capital.
Bangladesh Jewellers’ Association (BAJUS) has undertaken the mega initiative to consolidate business of the precious metal.
Sources said BAJUS is integral part of the revolutionary changes taking place in the jewellery sector. The organisation has put relentless effort into flourishing the gold business, fostering supply chain and streamlining marketing.
Besides, BAJUS has taken various steps to curb gold smuggling and money laundering to contribute to the national economy.
The jewellery park will be also the distribution hub of the Bashundhara Gold Refinery Ltd (BGRL).
Gold and ornaments produced by BGRL will be marketed through the distribution channel of the park.
Established on level-7 of the shopping complex, the park will make attractive and international standard ornaments available to the customers.
Sources said 200 shops of 300 square feet each are ready to be allotted to the jewellery traders with coveted offers.
