May fascism never return to the country: Adilur Rahman

Housing and Public Works Advisor Adilur Rahman Khan said may fascism not retun to the country anymore.

“The initiation of the flyover and the park is mainly for the future generations to remember their deeds their sacrifices when they will come to this park or pass over the flyover,” he said.

Adilur Rahman Khan told the reporters after the inauguration of the Panchlaishe July Memorial Park on Friday.

The advisor said, "I also remember those who fought against injustice, against fascism, against the injustice of fifteen and a half years and sacrificed their lives."

In response to a question, the advisor said, "There will be no controversy about the martyrs. Martyrs are martyrs. The list of martyrs will be revealed. It is our responsibility to honor the martyrs. The mayor will do the work of making the Chittagong Central Shaheed Minar visible publicly. An underpass is also needed to be built."

He said, "The Park is open to everyone, not for the use of any specific group. We are trying to maintain cleanliness, law and order so that people can go there. InshaAllah, it will be implemented with everyone's cooperation. Chattogram’s water logging is a big issue. Efforts are being made to free people from waterlogging. The Mayor, CDA, DC are working together on the issue.”

Chattogram City Coporation Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain said, “Panchlaishe is a traditional park. We once regarded it as the United Nations Park. I spent my childhood here. It has been aesthetically decorated. I think CCC, CDO, district administration have to take the responsibility for it. We did not have coordination once. Now we are working together. We want to decorate Chattogram together and do everything for the people. We want to make Patenga an international tourist center. It will take time. We hope that if we can work through the coordination, we can make Chattogram a clean and green city.”
