Three killed in Ijtema ground clash, BGB deployed

Three people were killed and dozens injured in a clash over controlling the Ijtema ground between the supporters of Maulana Jobayer and Maulana Saad around 3:00 am on Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Aminul Islam Bacchu (55), Bellal Hossain (60) and Tajul Islam (70).

Habibullah Raihan and Abu Sayem, media coordinators of Maulana Jobayer and Maulana Saad groups, confirmed the casualties.

Meanwhile, four platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed after the violent clash on the Bishwa Ijtema ground.

BGB public relations officer Shariful Islam confirmed the matter.  

He said four platoons BGB have been deployed after the clash between the supporters of Maulana Jobayer and Maulana Saad.
