The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) filed 2,131 cases and imposed fines totaling Tk 77,65,500 during operations targeting traffic violations on Wednesday, reports UNB.
The fines were levied for a range of offences, including speeding, illegal parking, and driving without proper documentation or safety measures, according to a statement from Talebur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner (Media) of the DMP.
Additionally, 240 vehicles were seized and impounded, while 68 others were towed for unsafe driving practices, Rahman added.
