A case was filed on Wednesday night against 50 unidentified BNP men in connection with the attack on former Justice AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik.
The justice’s gunman Md Rafiqul Islam filed the case against the BNP men at Paltan Police Station, said Salahuddin Miah, officer-in-charge of the police station.
According to the case statement, the case was filed for attacking former justice Manik, his driver, gunman and vandalising his car.
The accused will be arrested after scrutinising the CCTV footage, added the police official.
Meanwhile, police arrested four persons for their alleged involvement in the attack.
The arrestees are former central Chhatra Dal joint general secretary Maksudur Rahman Sumit, Jagannath University former Chhatra Dal joint general secretary Shakhawat Hossain Khan, Kalabagan unit Chhatra Dal member Robin Khan and Sagar.
DMP's additional commissioner (Crime and Operation) AKM Hafiz Akter confirmed the matter.
Justice Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik alleged that he was attacked from a procession of the BNP in the capital’s Paltan area on Wednesday afternoon.
